Introduction:

Human mind is full of curiosity. This curiosity leads to finding answers to questions which are known, and which are unknown. For centuries, this human curiosity to learn, adapt, invent new things has led to some marvelous inventions and discoveries. Imagine, if the wheel were not invented then how come society could have escaped the past and moved into the future. Inventions not only makes the world better, but it also paves the path for the future. Sometimes, some inventions get involved in controversies on the topics of who invented them or in which year they were invented. For example, if you search on the internet about what year was the integrated circuit invented you will get different answers such as 1958, 1959 and 1961. This is because of the fact that the concept of invention is quite complicated, and it varies from one country to another.

But that is not the focus point of this article. Here we will discuss about the various inventions which changed the world.

Inventions which changed the world:

Internet: Not only has the internet changed the world but it has revolutionized the way we communicate with others, browse information and how we consume entertainment. The Internet has made certain things possible which were not a couple of decades ago. The Internet has the ability to overthrow governments, save lives, deliver justice, creating a fortune and destroying lives. Jan 1, 1983 is considered as the official day on which the internet was truly invented but the concept of internet was first introduced back in 1960’s.

Personal Computer: Initially computers were replacement for typewriters but with the changing types the applications increased. Different types of computers were too developed for different purposes. Personal computers made daily lives easy. A device which was only used for office purposes in initial days is today used for almost everything, from studying to office work, entertainment to business.

Integrated Circuit: Almost every electronic and digital device carries an IC chip in it. Without an IC chip, there is no technological advancement possible. Earlier these chips had limited application, but today they are used in almost every industry and every device. Whether it’s smartphones, laptops, self-driving cars, rockets, submarines, solar panels, etc, everywhere the IC chip is used.

Antibiotics: Antibiotics was one of the most influential inventions of the 20th century. When Alexander Fleming developed penicillin in 1928 and other antibiotics after that by many other people, the deaths related to bugs and bacterias reduced exponentially. Not only antibiotics have changed the course of the medical world but it has also boosted the human immune system resulting in increase in life expectancy.

Bottomline:

Other than the above-given inventions several other inventions too changed the world, and it is almost impossible to mention each and every one of them. Invention of Electricity, Radio, Steam Engine, Printing Press, Airplane, Nuclear power, Wifi has changed the world for the better and boosted global development. With all of this said, the next time when you consider something too insignificant, do think about how it was invented and how it changed the world and made it a better place.
